Why is a customs agent necessary for handling power?

To comply with EU legislation and stay updated on changes and renewals, it is advantageous to use a customs agent who is always informed about the latest measures.

Service information about CBAM, for businesses trading on grids other than Viking Link

There are still massive IT problems regarding the reporting of CBAM. Unfortunately, in several EU countries (maybe all), significant issues have arisen in pointing to a Customs Representative to report CBAM for the company. Therefore, it is not possible to get the Customs Representative to apply for an extension of CBAM.

The solution in several EU countries has been to have companies initially assign themselves the right as CBAM – Declarant. The assignment is made in different systems in the EU (in Denmark, this should be done in TastSelv Erhverv).

After this right is assigned, the company must apply for an extension of the CBAM reporting (this will happen automatically when applying, and the company will have an additional 30 days to submit the information).

Extension of CBAM can be done via this link:

https://cbam.ec.europa.eu/declarant
